I made a card...

Seems like we've had a lot of recent birthday party invitations. Our usual gift these days is a gift card. I know my kids like to shop for themselves and it makes it an easy gift for mom to get!

I used to make a lot of cards using my stamping stuff. I have quite a bit stamps, inks and other cool tools, so yesterday on a whim, I decided to make a card for the gift card to go with. The party theme was sports, and I came up with this...

Yes, I had all the items I needed in my huge stash of craft supplies! My kids were impressed, hope the birthday boy enjoyed it too! I had fun. I need to do more of this, ya know, with all the extra time I have to fill!! I'll post more when (if) I get motivated again!

Sydney's Recorder Concert

The third grade had their Recorder Concert this last week. All about Rock N' Roll, so cute! Everyone did a great job with their parts singing, playing the recorder and performing.

Sydney had a speaking part, it was right at the end... "as the song says, Rock and Roll is here to stay." She did great despite the microphone was set too high! So proud of her.

Sienna Storm Maroon begins again

Well, it's that time again! Storm baseball is up and going. We've had two tournaments to start the season, not great for the team but Dylan has been doing really well with batting and pitching. Here are a few photos of some of the action!

Sydney wearing the Storm gear, ready to cheer for her brother and the rest of the guys!

Lots of busy weekends coming up with Baseball and Soccer, never a dull moment in our house!!

Sweater for Sandy

I found a dog sweater pattern and knitted one for Sandy. I used yarn I had and the colors match the kid's soccer team Eclipse. It's too big for her even though she gained some weight since coming to live with us. The pattern was one that I had to "sew" together, so it's knitted flat and then seamed. I don't like that part, or I haven't learned to do it well so I'm not happy with how mine turned out. Oh well, I'll try again and fit her better the next time! She is hard to photography because when I get down near the floor she runs to see me!
